ROPA Haulm Topper

The ROPA Haulm Topper provides powerful and effective mechanical haulm control for potato crops, helping growers manage crop maturity and prepare efficiently for harvest.

Available as the KS 475 and KS 490, it combines flexible front or rear mounting, strong suction performance and adjustable working settings with proven ROPA engineering.

ROPA Haulm Topper

Designed as an effective mechanical solution for potato haulm control, the ROPA Haulm Topper helps manage crop maturity, skin firmness and overall crop quality ahead of harvest.

Both the KS 475 and KS 490 can be mounted at the front or rear of the tractor and are designed for straightforward adjustment, reliable operation and easy maintenance.

FRONT OR REAR MOUNTING

The ROPA Haulm Topper can be mounted on the tractor’s front or rear three-point linkage, providing flexibility to suit different working setups.

EASY MAINTENANCE

Large maintenance and cleaning flaps provide straightforward access for inspection, servicing and cleaning.

EFFECTIVE HAULM REMOVAL

A strong suction effect helps lift and chop haulm lying on the ground or folded between rows for more consistent crop preparation.

INTEGRATED COUNTER BLADES

Standard counter blades mechanically crush the haulm residues to support effective crop management.

92 OR 104 FLAILS

The KS 475 uses 92 flails, while the KS 490 uses 104, with each arrangement designed to suit the relevant working width and row spacing.

FLEXIBLE PTO SPEED

The machine can be operated at 540, 750 or 1,000 rpm PTO speed to suit different tractor and working requirements.

ADJUSTABLE ROW SPACING

The KS 475 can be adjusted between 75 and 80 cm row spacing, while the KS 490 can be configured for 85 or 90 cm.

EASY HEIGHT ADJUSTMENT

Working height can be adjusted using the support wheel spindles and three-point linkage according to the required remaining stem length.

Additional equipment can be specified to support ridge protection, consistent working depth and road transport.

SWING SUPPORT WHEELS

Optional swing support wheels follow highly curved ridge edges to help maintain an even and consistent working height.

TRAILING PRESS WHEELS

Trailing wheels reconsolidate the potato ridges after topping, helping preserve ridge structure and protect tubers from sunlight and weather.

RIDGE FIRMING ROLLERS

Optional ridge firming rollers close cracks and lightly reconsolidate the ridge, helping maintain its structure and reduce the risk of greening.

ROAD TRANSPORT EQUIPMENT

An optional end tow kit with road lighting can be specified for safe and convenient transport outside the field.
